Sabine Joukes is the Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Women Entrepreneurs Act project (WE Act), aimed to empower young women entrepreneurs to have access to the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to succeed in the marketplace. Sabine started her career in the private sector as a marketing and advertising strategist in Belgium, Turkey and in Cambodia (‘96 to ’99) as General Manager for an international advertising agency. Sabine went on to Myanmar and Indonesia in advertising and then joined the non-for-profit sector (WB) after the Tsunami and has extensive experience coordinating donor projects. After 9 years in Malawi (latest as CoP on a climate resilience project), she joined Pact Myanmar as Programs Director and CoP, Sabine is now back in Cambodia and combines her extensive knowledge in marketing and promoting businesses with her leadership in empowering women. Sabine has a Masters in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Walden University, a bachelor’s in Communications and Public Relations from Ghent, and a bachelor’s in Marketing and Business Management from Antwerp (Belgium).
